Bea Last lives and works in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Her practice is process driven and she is currently exploring drawing in its broadest sense, creating sculptural drawing installations using recycled materials, paper, newspapers and plastic. She documents this with the aid of a telephone camera or I-pad as part of her creative process and this documentation is further developed in the form of photographic stills and 30 sec/1 min experimental film. Her work has been exhibited across the U.K and abroad, with commissions in both the private and corporate sectors. Described as both fragile and monumental her work is a reflection on the human condition and its current challenges. Conversation, Dialogue, Placement, Environment, connection and relationship are all part of Bea's process, creating sometimes challenging but aesthetically beautiful pieces in turn. Bea Last is a professional mentor under the umbrella of UpLand Arts cic and is a tutor for Glasgow School of Art, Widening Participation Open Studio Program. Bea is a professional, practicing, contemporary artist. Her work is process based, exploring the uses of recycled and upcycled materials.

Work, explore and experiment using recycled materials, plastics and paper to draw with. It is important to her to work with the given location as part of the whole, exploring the spaces between them, the relationship and the dialogue.
