Dejima Contemporary Art Challenge Revisited 2027

Challenging interaction project for Japanese and western contemporary artists

The concept for this exhibition project consists of teaming up 12 Japanese contemporary artists with 12 western contemporary artists to stimulate and to inspire each other as a pair to reflect on their individual works of art. A challenge that will request high-end communication skills from all involved to get to the artistic essence and meaning of each other’s worlds and works. Every team will create two works inspired by each other.  The results of this ultimate challenge and interaction between Japanese and Western contemporary artists, will be exhibited in pairs within an exhibition at Hof van Ryhove in the city of Ghent in Belgium in the end of 2027.
