10dence platform organizes international curated exhibition projects, presenting a contemporary vision on how an international group of artists experience and reflect on the concepts developed. The artists reflect on the ‘Radical Pacifism’ exhibition concept from their specific personal viewpoints. Twenty professional artists from all over the world have been selected out of an amazing quantity of submissions of 225 on our open call, to participate within the curated ‘Radical Pacifism’ exhibition and all of them will show a curated selection of works created based on their unique vision and expression based on their personal confrontation with the concept.
10dence platform developed the Radical Pacifism concept in order to generate an opportunity to reflect on aversion or antipathy to the use of violence in any form for any purpose. As a conscientious objector, who refuses to fight in any war for moral reasons, the exhibition project stimulates the participating artists to take active steps to undermine the principal of war with their works and to promote dialogue to establish permanent and universal peace. History lessons learned us that important thinkers like the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy, the former political and spiritual leader of India, Mahatma Gandhi and the Baptist minister, Martin Luther King, amongst others, contributed to pacifist ideology and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom worldwide with their efforts to promote the ideal of peaceable arbitration in the affairs of nations and the creation of an international institution to achieve that.
Reviewing a worldwide climate of inflaming violence and it's obvious consequences, laid-back absorbed from a cozy armchair as presented by a large variety of conveniently censored news-broadcasts, this exhibition concept aims for the adaption and integration of a highly potent mixture of symbolism that in our opinion works as an immersion booster. Integrating historical, political and religious content as effortlessly into the works as walking a very fine semiotic and semantic line alongside a kind of experimental abstract poetry of the moment. Goal is to transfer your views and thoughts to the public and to stimulate an open dialogue and discussion related to the Radical Pacifism concept and the works that will be on display. Radical pacifism rejects war on an absolute level. Deeply committed to the pursuit of social justice and firmly believing that nonviolent direct action is the key to bring about fundamental social and political change.
